Leading consulting firms McKinsey & Company, Boston Consulting Group (BCG) and Bain & Company have raised starting salaries for US recruits by 4% to 9%, marking their first increases since 2022.From 2027, new hires with undergraduate degrees will receive annual base salaries of $120,000, while MBA graduates will earn $200,000 at all three firms. The increases reflect intensifying competition for highly skilled graduates in the US job market. The pay adjustments come as technology companies expand recruitment and artificial intelligence (AI) labs emerge as attractive career destinations. Consulting firms are also experiencing renewed demand for AI implementation services, although advances in the technology have raised questions about its potential long-term impact on the consulting industry.
