L’Oréal says the growing use of weight-loss drugs is influencing beauty and skincare sales, particularly products targeting skin changes linked to rapid weight loss. CEO Nicolas Hieronimus described GLP-1 medications as a significant market trend, noting their impact on skincare consumption. Rapid weight loss can contribute to loose or sagging skin, including around the face. L’Oréal brands SkinCeuticals and Kiehl’s offer products addressing these concerns, while the company has expanded its presence in clinical aesthetics through a 20% stake in dermatology firm Galderma. L’Oréal reported a 7.7% rise in sales for the three months ending in September, exceeding analysts’ expectations. According to Reuters, L’Oréal and Galderma have also conducted clinical trials involving GLP-1 users concerned about loose skin, reflecting growing links between weight-loss treatments and the beauty industry.
