Pakistan Launches EO-3 Satellite, Advancing Space and Remote Sensing Capabilities

Pakistan has successfully launched its indigenous electro-optical satellite, EO-3 marking a significant step forward in the country’s space and technological development.
The satellite was launched by SUPARCO from the Taiyuan Satellite Launch Centre in collaboration with China.
According to officials, EO-3 is equipped with advanced technologies including a Multi-Geometry Imaging Module, an improved energy storage system and an AI-powered onboard data processing unit. These features will enable real-time data analysis and enhance imaging precision.
The satellite is expected to strengthen Pakistan’s Earth observation capabilities supporting sectors such as agriculture, urban planning, disaster management and environmental monitoring.
Government officials described the launch as a major milestone highlighting the growing strength of Pakistan’s scientific and technological sector. The addition of EO-3 will improve data continuity and analytical accuracy across various socio-economic applications.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the scientists and engineers behind the mission and reaffirmed the government’s commitment to advancing the national space programme.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar also commended the achievement calling it a reflection of Pakistan’s increasing capabilities in the space domain.
The launch further underscores deepening technological cooperation between Pakistan and China, particularly in space exploration and satellite development.
